The  Four  Distinctives  of  Stillwater  Bible  Church

Stillwater Bible Church seeks to glorify God as we make an impact in our community. That may sound like every other church you’ve known but here are four distinctives that set Stillwater Bible apart:

  • Grace Message of Salvation
  • Expository Teaching
  • Believers Carry Out Ministry
  • G.R.O.W. Groups

Grace Message of Salvation

We seek to proclaim in our community the clear grace message of salvation. The message that Jesus Christ died and rose again and that all who believe in Him will have Eternal Life (John 3:16). Salvation is not based on our work, goodness, or faithfulness but on faith in Jesus Christ our Savior (Eph 2:8-9).

Expository Teaching

We seek to help believers grow in their faith by teaching God’s Word in a manner that is clear and easy to understand. Expository teaching is a verse by verse method of Bible instruction that helps the believer gain greater awareness of what is going on in a particular verse or passage of scripture by explaining it in its context. Expository teaching sheds light on historical, literal, and grammatical concepts that impact the interpretation of a passage. The Word of God is alive, power, and effective (2 Tim 3:!6-17) and we believe that expository teaching is the best method for impacting believers through the SBC’s teaching ministry.

Believers Carry Out Ministry

At Stillwater Bible Church the ministry is to be done by the body of believers. God in His grace gives every believer at least one spiritual gift the moment they trust in Christ as Savior. These gifts are divine abilities given to believers for the purpose of bringing glory to God as they are exercised in ministry (1 Cor 12-14; Eph 4:11-16). Some gifts, such as the gift of evangelism, can minister to needs outside the church. Other gifts, such as the gift of administration, can minister to logistical needs inside the church. As these gifts are exercised in the power of the Holy Spirit needs are met and God is glorified. At Stillwater Bible Church we seek to encourage believers to understand their gifts, and use them in ministry.

G.R.O.W. Groups

G.rowing in R.elationship, and O.beying the W.ord is what our G.R.O.W. Groups are all about. These are small groups that meet on Sunday mornings @ 9:45. All groups meet in the auditorium for a brief time of teaching then break for a time of fellowship, prayer, and guided discussion about the subject of the lesson. These G.R.O.W. Groups plan service projects, and fellowship activities to further the development a sense of community.
